FAQs

  • What grades does Apologia consider elementary school?

Elementary school age spans grades K-6th, which includes children from ages 5-11.

You can browse the curriculum by grade level below.

  • What subjects can you purchase Apologia Elementary homeschool resources for?

  • Should Apologia's elementary science curriculum be taught in a specific order?

No. Our elementary science curriculum does not need to be taught in a specific order, and we recommend that you begin with the topic(s) you and your students are most excited about!

If you’re looking for a structure suggestion, we offer a curriculum path chart as one possible course sequence for the Young Explorer Series.

  • Does Apologia Math correspond to specific Apologia Science courses?

While we have designed each level of Apologia elementary math to share some aspect of a design theme with a title from Apologia’s science Young Explorer Series, each math and science course can be completed separately.

For example, Level 1 mathematics has an astronomy design theme, and icons in the book include astronauts and rockets. A few hands-on activities also have an astronomy theme, like creating a rocket number line to use in learning addition and subtraction. Apologia chose the design connections to help your student see the connections between abstract mathematical concepts and the real world.

  • Can Elementary students take Live Classes?

Though Apologia’s Live Classes are mostly geared towards middle school and high school students, we have a few classes for 6th graders, including our What We Believe class.

  • Can Apologia curriculum be used in a co-op or group setting?

Absolutely! Many homeschool co-ops and groups use Apologia’s curriculum for collaborative learning. The hands-on experiments and discussion prompts work well in group environments.

Visit our co-op page to learn more about using Apologia in your co-op.
